There are many options available when you decide to kick the habit. Patches are available to give us the nicotine with the thought to quit the habit then the addition. There are herbal supplements, but those don't always work. Some turn to hypnosis as an option to kick the habit.
The typical smoker, when trying to quit, will make several attempts to quit. They may be successful for a day or two, or a few weeks, but something pulls them back to their smoking habit. It's not an easy habit to quit, whether you look at it as a habit or an addiction.
The word "hypnosis" brings up images of some sideshow stage act in Vegas, and some unsuspecting participants will quack like a duck or do something else completely ridiculous. But there is another aspect of hypnosis, the therapeutic side. When we put all the joking aside, people who are serious about quitting smoking should consider using hypnosis in their treatment program.
Hypnosis is a form of deep thought or trance. Auto Suggestion is considered to be a powerful tool with a profound long term psychological impact. You have to be willing to relax into the hypnotic state for hypnosis to work, you can't force or trick someone into it. Through the power of thought or suggestion hypnosis can be an amazing tool in the fight to quit smoking.
Hypnosis alone does not necessarily bring a smoker to complete success. You may still have occasional cravings. Self control and will power are needed to assure success in kicking the habit.
Using hypnosis along with other measures, such as yoga or herbal supplements, can make the process of quitting a much simpler, less painful event. Check the yellow pages for therapeutic hypnotists, or consult with friends. If you really want to quit smoking, then hypnosis may be the solution for success.
